Delta Police arrests Pastor with gun running, 3870 live cartridges

The Delta State Police Command yesterday arrested a pastor of Salvation Army Church suspected to be notorious kidnapper with three thousand, eight hundred and seventy one live cartridges and a loaded English made double barrel gun.

The 51years old suspected kidnapper, Mr. Rev. Ignatius Ogboi was a pastor of Salvation Army Church in Mbiri , Ika North East Local Government of the State.
Parading the suspect and other criminals at the state Police headquarters in Asaba, the state Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Mustafa said that Pastor Ogboi was sponsoring kidnappers and armed robbers operating within Agbor and Umunede and its environs.
Police command also recovered some prohibited drugs and over N4 million, believed to be ransom collected from kidnapped and armed robbery victims from the kidnapper pastor.
According to Mustafa, “following information received through discreet Intelligence gathering that one Ignatius Ogboi, a business man and Pastor of Salvation Army Church Mbiri, Ika North East LG, Delta State who specializes in sponsoring kidnapping/armed robbery operations within Agbor, Umunede and its environs, operatives of SAKCCS Asaba led by the O/C , stormed his residence with a duly signed search warrant.”
“Operatives of Police SAKCCS arrested him and recovered a loaded English Made double barrel gun, three thousand eight hundred and seventy one live cartridges, some prohibited drugs and undisclosed amount of money believed to be ransom collected from victims. Case is still under investigation”, he posited.
